Saturday (his): gazpacho and paella
Went to a lovely dinner party in the nearby town of Melrose. A friend and former teacher was visiting, and I drove out with a friend and current poetry teacher. That's Peter, the host, preparing the paella we would have for dinner. I would have like to take a pic of the final spread, but didn't want to disrupt the mood. For appetizers, Peter make lightly breaded calamari, which I could have eaten forever. Dinner consisted of gazpacho and delicious paella and drinking and talking. The mix of seafood and wine went to my head. But it was a most pleasurable night of good food and company.
